CELEBRATING WOMEN'S DAY 2020

08.03.2020

PAVILION NORDICO and PN1 are celebrating International Women's Day!

Since 1911, March 8 has been a hugely symbolic date for women all over the world to gather and fight for their rights, such as equality, physical safety, and choice.

Last year, PAVILION NORDICO reported on the historical 8M women's march in Buenos Aires, one of the most significant recurring demonstrations for the Argentine feminist movement. For years, Argentine women have fought particularily hard to loosen Argentina's restrictive abortion laws.

Today, on International Women's Day 2020, we're happy to report that the Argentine government finally seems to be taking the necessary steps towards legalizing abortion. Just a few days ago, Argentine president Alberto Fernández confirmed that he would issue a bill making abortion legal, to be approved by congress in the coming weeks. If the bill comes to pass, Argentina would be the first country in South America to legalize abortion.

PAVILION NORDICO supports the feminist movement in Argentina. We are excited about this huge push forward for the feminist movemetn, and hope to see many more wins for women's rights in Argentina in the near future.
